Singapore Celebrates YSEALI’s 4th Anniversary

Youth Actions for the Environment facilitated a discussion on ways youth can effectively address sustainability issues in the region

In Singapore, alumni and members of the Young Southeast Asian Leaders Initiative (YSEALI) organized four community projects centered around the issues of human rights, civic engagement, sustainability, and innovation. These events were organized in celebration of YSEALI YOUnified, as ASEAN-wide day of community service commemorating the fourth anniversary of the YSEALI program. In addition to a Migrant Worker Poetry Competition held on December 3, YOUnified projects included: a data science conference that highlighted opportunities in skills-based volunteering as part of the Lifelong Learning Festival called Code Circles; a discussion on ways youth can effectively address sustainability issues in the region facilitated; and a gift-giving platform aimed at promoting the inclusion of persons with disabilities created by Society Staples.
