“Mr. A-Z” learns about ethnobotany at the Singapore Botanic Gardens

U.S. Embassy Singapore supported American Grammy Award-winning singer Jason Mraz’s visit to the Singapore Botanic Gardens on October 29, 2018.  The environmentally-friendly singer toured the new Ethnobotany Garden and Centre for Ethnobotany. Lai Simin, Senior Manager for Horticulture and Operations, guided Mr. Mraz through the outdoor garden showcasing over 300 species of plants that are significant to the traditional cultures of Southeast Asia.

A huge thank you to the National Parks Board for hosting the group. We enjoyed learning about edible and medicinal plants, as well as the relationship between plants and people.
