Welcome to the U.S. Mission business portal.
This part of our website has been provided to give you an overview of Singapore’s commercial, economic, political, and investment climate, emphasizing the best prospects for American business. It also describes assistance available from the U.S. government and other sources that can help you in your marketing efforts in Singapore and the region.
Singapore continues to be one of the United States’ largest trading partners. With a per capita GDP of more than US$52,000 in 2015, Singapore is an excellent market for a variety of U.S. products and services. Singapore’s strong and open economy consistently ranks among the top 10 in the world for government transparency and robust intellectual property protection, making it a preferred regional business hub and distribution center for U.S. companies to reach Asia.
2016 is a landmark year of business opportunity. Since the inauguration of the ASEAN Economic community (AEC) at the end of 2015, the coming years hold immense promise for U.S. business in ASEAN. The Trans-Pacific Partnership (TTP) is advancing towards ratification as each of the 12 countries has signed the agreement. Plus, this year we commemorated 50 years of bilateral relations between the United States and Singapore and witnessed the historic State visit by Prime Minister Lee to Washington, which further highlighted the close relationship between the United States and Singapore. This truly historic visit illuminated both the breadth and depth of our bilateral cooperation and strengthened our partnership, building upon our shared vision of political, security, trade and investment, cultural exchanges, and people-to-people ties.
Singapore is recognized as a platform to promote U.S. exports throughout the Asia-Pacific region. I encourage you to make full use of our Embassy and our Commercial Service to assist with your export strategy.

Overseas Security Advisory Council (OSAC)
The Overseas Security Advisory Council (OSAC) was created in 1985 under the Federal Advisory Committee Act to promote security cooperation between American private-sector interests worldwide and the U.S. Department of State. OSAC has developed into an enormously successful joint venture, with U.S. companies and organizations receiving the tools they need to cope with security issues in a foreign environment. OSAC is a free service to U.S.-based or incorporated private sector organizations with overseas operations. OSAC promotes effective cooperation by working to assist the U.S. private sector to better anticipate security issues, including identifying and tracking threats, particularly those targeting private sector personnel, facilities, investments, interests, and intellectual property. In addition to providing timely and actionable security information, OSAC also aids in the development of new markets with accurate assessments of current and future security environments. Ensuring

Single Location Promotion
Single Location Promotion (SLP) is a fee-based service offered to a U.S. economic development organization (EDO) representing a state, city, town, or region to promote individual jurisdictions as a destination for FDI. Tailor-made events will be organized by FCS posts such as: seminars, presentations, business-to-business meetings, government-to-government meetings, receptions, and other events that enable the U.S. location to promote itself to potential foreign investors. FCS posts will develop a scope of work to propose to the client. The mutually agreed-upon items will be executed by FCS posts. Fees paid by U.S. EDOs are on a cost-recovery basis. The SLP cannot be used by an EDO to request that FCS performs lead generation or matchmaking functions, as they violate geographic neutrality. To participate in our Single Location Promotion program, email Mr. Zac Ong zhi-xiang.ong@trade.gov Cost: Please contact us; Delivery: 6-8 weeks
