Bureau of Energy Resources Assistant Secretary Francis Fannon explains Asia EDGE initiative

The U.S. Department of State Bureau of Energy Resources Assistant Secretary Francis Fannon traveled to Singapore October 29-31, 2018, to foster enhanced energy cooperation in the Indo-Pacific. He participated in the 12th East Asia Summit Energy Ministers Meeting and in Singapore International Energy Week (SIEW) events. He also met with energy ministers from the ASEAN member states under this year’s theme of “Resilience and Innovation,” including Singapore Senior Minister of State for Trade and Industry Dr. Koh Poh Koon.

During his speech and panel discussion at SIEW, Assistant Secretary Fannon laid out the Asia EDGE initiative – Enhancing Development and Growth through Energy – and how it fits into the Indo-Pacific Strategy. The U.S. Department of State-led Asia EDGE is harnessing a whole-of-government approach to invest resources to help our Indo-Pacific partners import, produce, and deploy energy resources.
