Assistant Secretary Russel leads U.S. delegation at U.S.-Singapore Strategic Partnership Dialogue

Assistant Secretary of State for the Bureau of East Asian and Pacific Affairs Daniel Russel traveled to Singapore to lead the U.S. delegation at the fourth annual U.S.-Singapore Strategic Partnership Dialogue. Both sides affirmed the strong political, economic and defense ties between the U.S. and Singapore, and discussed ways to expand bilateral cooperation in new areas.

Assistant Secretary Russel also gave a speech titled “The United States and Southeast Asia: Security and Economic Partners” at the Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy. Business leaders, academic experts, students and government members gathered to hear Mr. Russel’s remarks on the U.S. rebalance to Asia and the increased level of U.S. engagement in the Asia-Pacific.
