The 2019 U.S. Embassy-ITE Alumni Mentoring Program wrapped up on May 4, 2019 with a closing ceremony hosted by Google. Over the course of five months, 39 Institute of Technical Education (ITE) students were paired with alumni of Embassy exchange programs as their mentors and participated in monthly sessions aimed at fostering personal and professional growth. The sessions were hosted by five U.S. companies in Singapore.

At Nike, the mentees learned how they could attain their goals by harnessing their strengths and understanding their weaknesses.

At Mastercard, the mentees learned how to develop themselves to become innovative and resilient individuals in society.

At Boeing, the mentees created vision collages about their future aspirations, shared stories of challenges they had faced, and learned from their mentors about how to communicate more effectively.

At the Conrad Centennial Hotel, several mentors put on a “fashion show” to highlight tips for dressing appropriately for various occasions and settings. They also shared tips about proper business and dining etiquette.

At Google, the mentees shared stories about themselves and what they have learned over the course of the program, received feedback on their presentation skills, and celebrated each other’s strengths and growth.

We’d like to thank all of our partner companies for hosting mentoring sessions and for participating in the closing ceremony. Thank you to our inspiring mentors for another successful year. We’re so proud of the 2019 mentees for completing the program and wish them success on their journey forward.
